New Context, a subsidiary of Digital Garage (JASDAQ DG4819), has expanded to the New York market with its acquisition of Proof Innovation Labs.

Proof, founded in early 2012 by Giff Constable, Jeff Gothelf and Josh Seiden, quickly emerged as the leading design firm providing Lean UX and Lean Startup services to both startups and large enterprises like Paypal and American Express.

Proof’s design capabilities are now being added to New Context’s world-class software development organization to create a full-service product innovation leader.

Proof’s Jeff Gothelf, author of O’Reilly’s forthcoming book on Lean UX, said, “Great products require close collaboration across design, technology and business. After pairing with New Context’s developers on a mutual client, we realized that the two businesses really should be one. Our clients win.”

New Context General Partner Eric Ries, author of The Lean Startup said, “The Proof team are at the forefront of putting Lean Startup ideas into practice. This is a tremendous addition to the New Context family.”

“Design has emerged as a critical factor for successful products,” said Ian McFarland, President of New Context. “We’re excited to bring on board a group of thought leaders, and in the process expand our footprint in New York.”

New Context provides software development and design as an “on-demand” service to enterprises, startups and governments. It focuses on agile software development, and lean design principles.
